Essay Writing Skills Ages 13 - 16 yrs

This program focuses on the full process of writing effective essays, developing critical thinking skills while converting analysis in to words. You will become familiar with common essay styles and approaches to writing them.

Jump Start High School Math Ages 13 - 16 yrs

Get a head start on the new semester by learning the concepts of grade 9 Math from a high school math teacher. This course is suitable for Grade 8 students who want an early introduction to high school math
and for Grade 9 students who just finished taking math and want a refresher course.

Public Speaking for Teens Ages 13 to 16 years

Public speaking is a fear many young adults have. Communicating well is an essential life skill and vital for success in school, work and ultimately in life. Through non-threatening oral language exercises and drama activities, participants will develop self-confidence in their speaking skills. Participants will learn strategies for dealing with nervousness in order to become effective communicators.

Volunteer Information Session Ages 13 and up

The Volunteer Information Session provides information on Markham Public Library volunteer policies, and volunteer opportunities and responsibilities. Attendance does not guarantee a placement however it is required for anyone who is interested in volunteering at any MPL location.
