Directions Located on Major Mackenzie Drive East between Warden and Kennedy in the Angus Glen Community Centre, this branch is part of the Angus Glen Community Centre & Library project, which recently received $3.5 million in SuperBuild funding from Industry Canada and the Government of Ontario. Building and Collection Information
  • Ample seating-more than 200 seats.
  • Café providing food and drink for customer purchase.
  • Comfortable seating in fireplace lounge areas.
  • Group study rooms and individual study booths.
  • Teen area with lounge seating, a media wall, PCs, and 2 group study rooms
  • Children's area, including a Story Nook, a "night sky" ceiling feature, PCs, window seats and a program room.
  • Collection size of 157, 434 volumes.
Services
  • Express self service checkout that allows customers to check out material without staff intervention.
  • First of its kind in Canada, automatic self-service materials return station, allowing customers to return their material and obtain a receipt for the items returned. The unit also sorts the material returned into designated bins for the staff to handle.
  • Wireless connectivity for customer laptop use, a computer training room for programs aimed at developing computer and internet searching skills.
  • A more proactive kind of library service, where staff rove the library serving customers at point of need.
