Lunauweb - Markham Local History Online
Background
Local historian John Lunau dedicated his life to the preservation of Markham's heritage. His papers, along with local history documents from other sources, have been scanned into Lunauweb--a digital database of images and documents relating to the history of Markham. Lunauweb can be accessed on designated computer workstations at all MPL branches during library open hours.

- John Lunau papers: a miscellany of historical documents, including deeds, letters, the diary and poetry of George Bruce, and notes regarding the history of local churches and cemeteries
- Unionville Historical Society Papers: includes photographs and documents regarding the history of Unionville families and buildings

- The Weaver Photograph Collection - Thornhill: a remarkable collection of historical photographs collected by Alf and Laura Weaver, as well as photographs by Alf Weaver, documenting Thornhill's transition from a rural to sub-urban community.
Please note that the physical copies of all LunauWeb documents and all artifacts are held by the Markham Museum.
